Chadley Leith

Flute, piano

Chadley Leith

Chadley Leith, a gifted teenager from Stellenbosch, South Africa, is the oldest of two siblings. He has always had a passion for music and that passion became his life when he started practicing music from age 9.

Chadley started his formal music education at Idas Valley Primary School under the watchful eyes of Mr Samuel Sylvester where he became a senior band member in the school’s fast growing brass band and a frequent entertainer in most of the school’s events playing the silver flute.

Intrigued by the silver flute and what he achieved in such a short time, his horizons quickly grew to the piano as well. Although Chadley excelled in mastering the silver flute, there was still a yearning to play the piano more than anything else.

He started his High Schooling career at The Calling Academy in 2019, but to his dismay there was not a music teacher at hand. It was then that we sought out his music teacher, Dr Ronella Janse van Rensburg from ScoreS2Duo. Under her tutelage Chadley was exposed to different ways of envisioning music. He has participated in various Eisteddfods in both Stellenbosch and Helderbergin which he exceeded expectations and was awarded Gold Plus and Cumlaude to mention a few. With Ronella on his side, Recitals and Online Competitions became a norm. It became evident that his true passion was in playing the piano with a love for contemporary genres. He thus continued his exploration into wider music education with a focus on the piano with the wonderful support and encouragement of Ronella.

As a member of Destiny Church Stellenbosch, Chadley instantly delved into Christian Contemporary Music as he was constantly exposed to this genre at church. He is currently a member of the Church Worship Band as a Keyboard player and also being prepared for the performance world by professional musicians like Music Producer / Music Director Dillon April, Drum player Neville Arnolds, Brass instrument player Heinrich Abrahams and the church’s very own Pastor Clive Williams who is also a very passionate musician. Proof that a passion can translate to practice.

It is Chadley’s hope to be active within the global music industry, to perfect his technique and later take that industry knowledge to become a teacher and music producer. Inspiring a new generation of music enthusiasts. Illustrating that music has different facets, you just need to find your own path.
